Sosthène Baran (b. 1990, Blois) lives and works in Paris, where he is based at POUSH. He graduated in 2020 from the École Supérieure d’Arts & Médias in Caen/Cherbourg.

His work brings together painting, found objects, and sculpture. Using constructed or reclaimed wooden supports, he develops layered compositions where light, texture, and gesture create a quiet, dreamlike space. Drawing on science fiction, the supernatural, and religious imagery, his practice explores the relationships between material, form, and belief.

His work has been presented in solo exhibitions at Le Radar Art Center (Bayeux), Galerie Panis (Rouen), Galerie C (Paris), and LE SHED Contemporary Art Center (Normandy), and in group exhibitions including Art Paris, Art Brussels, the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles (Paris), and FRAC Normandy (Caen). He has completed residencies at the Cité Internationale des Arts and Villa Belleville in Paris.
